Punggidae is a pedestal on which a wind vane stands to measure the direction and strength of the wind stands.
During the reign of King Sejong, the development of agrometeorology brought about many meteorological observations.
Especially, it was considered important to measure rainfall and the direction and velocity of the wind.
This vane pedestal was modeled on the 846th Treasure preserved in Changgyeonggung Palace.
It is composed of a granite prop, a flagpole and a flag.
